Croswell Family | Rosemary Beach Family Beach Photos

Talk about a case of the Mondays! Today was the perfect lazy rainy day in Destin to kick back, stay in and cozy up in a blanket with a good book or movie. Being a work day for us here at Pure7, we stayed in and cozied up to computers editing our latest wedding videography, wedding videos, and even some family beach photos. Things are coming along beautifully, and I can’t wait to share them with you in the coming months. For now, we’ve got a great set of family beach portraits of the completely cool Croswell family.

From Destin and 30A down to Panama City Beach we expect this rainy weather to last all week. Naturally, it’s bittersweet because that’s a lot of rain! The sweet side of that bitter is we’ll get a once over. Like after any good rain, things just have a refreshed beauty about them seeming a little cleaner and greener. We can’t say for certain that the Croswell’s  family portraits came after a good rain, but we can say they look absolutely heavenly. The green trees behind them remind me of how one might picture the Garden of Eden, and their family beach photos have this subtle majestic quality to them.

I definitely don’t think if heaven looks like Rosemary Beach there will be any complaints. If that’s not enough, the Croswell’s found the perfect color scheme to coordinate. All the girls wore pieces of jewelry the same bright color with their own take on wearing white. They truly look like they could be straight off of someone’s Pinterest Board (and here shortly, they’ll be on ours)!

Take a minute and check out all our boards on Pinterest and find your favorite one to follow. We can’t wait to see you on there. Happy pinning!

FEATURED FRIDAY | Pure7 Studios Baby Portraits

If you’ve heard the phrase “a picture speaks 1,000 words”, you understand why we love that saying in the portrait and wedding photography business. Especially since Ryan, Lindsey, and Alan all work hard to make sure their work says something. They all that understand every person in every one of our family beach photos, and every couple that invites their family and friends to Destin or 30A for a destination wedding (and hires us to do the wedding photography) has a story deserved of telling.

That’s why we couldn’t be happier or more humbled by the Grey Likes Baby feature of our newborn photo session with Baby Alexandra. Using only two sentences to introduce the newborn portraits, they really let the work speak for itself. We’ve also featured this session on our blog, so make sure you check out our previous post to see the complete session.

Sticking with the lovely little girls theme, the next feature we’re sharing captures what age one looks like. Denim and Grace also didn’t use any words in the feature, letting the photos express all of the celebration and cheer a first birthday brings. Be sure to look at the full feature! It’s sure to make you smile.

Our final feature for today was on Style Redefine and showcases maternity photography of a beautiful mom to be along with some newborn portraits after welcoming her little one into the world. The article is perfectly titled “Be Inspired by New Mom Danielle H.” because in addition to thousands of words from our photos, Danielle shares her thoughts about pregnancy and becoming a new mom. Read the article to see what she said.

Urban Family Portraits| Fort Walton Beach

When Mrs. Bedsole reached out to us about a non-traditional family portrait session stating that she did not want the standard family beach portraits, Ryan suggested the eclectic downtown Fort Walton Beach area. He had photographed there several years prior, and really enjoyed it. When the Bedsoles agreed, we were ecstatic! Why? The Emerald Coast is a mecca for destination weddings and beach family portraits, so we spend most of our time photographing along the coast of Destin, 30A, Watercolor, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach and Seaside. While all of these places are extremely beautiful and we truly never tire of it; there’s always something fun about stepping outside the routine to change things up a bit – and the Bedsole’s allowed us to do just that.

Being locals, they knew they liked the more urban look and feel of downtown Fort Walton Beach. On a mission, our photographer, Ryan, went on an adventure to scope out the scene and find the perfect location for their family portraits. Since the pictures don’t lie, you can see Ryan did a great job picking the perfect backdrops for the Bedsole’s portraits. Their clothing coordinates impeccably with the scenery in every shot. On top of that, this family figured out the “cool” factor. The different combinations they chose and the variety in their positions leaves no two photos the same.

We can’t thank them enough for letting us go on this adventure with them taking to the streets instead of the beach. It’s just another testament to us we that we really are the luckiest Destin Photographers, with the best clients because who they inspire us everyday.

FEATURED FRIDAY| Pure7 Studios in 2013

You’ve probably heard wine gets better with age. Over here at Pure7 Studios we agree, but more importantly… we feel the same way about the press we’ve had over the years. We haven’t had a chance to share it all on our blog yet, so today is the day we decided to pull out a few featured weddings that are “oldies but goodies” so we can look back and enjoy where we’ve been.

It’s always good to look back and reflect. We are all shaped by the past and evolving with the hope of the future. It’s also a good reminder of what’s really most important. For us, that’s our clients and creating quality work on all Engagement Sessions, Beach Portraits, Destination Wedding Photos, etc. We couldn’t do what we love without our amazing clientele.

All three of our features today are truly a blast from the past. The first two were both published on Every Last Detail in 2013. On November 11th, 2013 they featured the beautiful Santa Rosa Beach, FL destination wedding of Rachel and Jeffrey. Coordinated by the effervescent Avis, of Carillon Weddings, we couldn’t be more humbled to create the wedding photography and wedding videography for this wonderful couple. Having just graduated from FAU with a degree in Film & New Media, this was the very first wedding video that Alan created. Until that point, his background was in independent and commercial videos, but his artistic eye lent itself beautifully to the production of a unique, modern wedding film. See their cinematic wedding highlights film here for yourself, and we think you’ll be quite impressed (as were our clients). You can also view the full Every Last Detail feature of this beautiful 30A Wedding (St. Rita’s Catholic Church ceremony and Celebration Hall reception) here!

Our next 30A wedding feature poured praises all over Elizabeth & Chris and their 2012 Watercolor Wedding, coordinated by the awesome Cheryl Walton (of WaterColor Weddings). We just love providing wedding photography and wedding videography for weddings held at the WaterColor Resort, which is situated on our favorite stretch of Highway infamously known as Highway 30A. The bride even left advice for those following her footsteps into marriage. Check out their full feature from November 22nd, 2013 to see what she said!

Last but certainly not least, in December of 2013, Southern Weddings featured Claire and Matt’s elegant 2012 Rosemary Beach wedding. It was even included in Marissa’s Dream Southern Summer Wedding Series later on. We must say, It’s A Shore Thing really out did themselves (yet again) bringing to life Claire’s dream. This wedding also took place on 30A in one of our favorite 30A wedding venues, called Rosemary Beach. Make sure you see their full spread for any needed wedding inspiration.

Aerial Real Estate Video | Destin, Florida

As a society we often want what we don’t have and when we get it, we want something else. When it’s cold and dark outside we long for warm sunny days. Then, as the sun beats down on us with heavy humidity, those perfect fall days can’t come soon enough. Now that it’s almost April, winter is officially on its way out and we couldn’t be more excited for Spring.  Perhaps we’re actually excited for what we do have around this time, because along the Emerald Coast we have a fifth season – Spring Break.

Currently we’re about half way through spring break season as all of the schools from elementary to university are taking their week away. In Destin, Miramar Beach, and all down 30A this means things are starting to liven up. Families, friends and couples are making their way to the area to enjoy the sugar white sandy beaches.  It also means condos, beach houses and hotels are starting to fill up. Some people experiencing Destin for the first time, while others are here reliving a lifetime tradition.

In honor of Spring Break, which kicks off the busy season for our Beach Weddings, Family Beach Portraits, and Engagement Sessions, we’ve decided to share one of our videographer’s aerial and interior real estate videos showcasing the beautiful beach house at 3598 Waverly Circle (situated on the idyllic Holiday Isle here in Destin, FL). This film was used by the realtor and home owner as a tool to showcase (and sell) this beautiful property.

As you’ll see in Alan’s beautifully shot aerial video and interior real estate film, Waverly Place is the perfect blend of beach and home. Situated on a small lake but still only minutes from the beaches and emerald green waters of Gulf of Mexico, you get the best of both worlds.

Eden Gardens State Park | Santa Rosa Beach | Colby + Mary Elizabeth Wedding Video

Everything about Colby and Mary Elizabeth’s Eden Gardens State Park wedding in Santa Rosa Beach, FL was straight out of a fairytale. Watching their wedding video takes me back to me back to my childhood and all of the fairytale-esque ideas I had about what my wedding day would look like. Of course, every bride deserves to find herself in a fairytale on her wedding day, I’m especially in awe of Mary Elizabeth and how perfectly her fairytale stood the test of time and became a reality last May when she married Colby. We were fortunate enough to send Alan to do their wedding videography alongside Kate’s Captures, who did the wedding photography.

Alan did a brilliant job filming and editing their wedding video in a way that allows anyone to fall into their fairytale. Early on we see butterflies outside and the bride with all her bridesmaids getting ready. There’s also a beautiful shot of her wedding dress with was appears to be a “something blue” ribbon around the waist hanging in a window. Next, we’re taken on a journey through decades of love and devotion as we see the wedding photography of their loved ones displayed in frames. If her parents’ successful marriage is any indication of what Mary Elizabeth and Colby have to look forward to, they truly have a lifetime of love and happiness ahead. Her parents have been married 32 years!

One of my favorite fairytale moments is just past minute one when we see a wide shot showing us what looks like an enchanted forest where all of the festivities took place. It looks right out of a storybook.  That’s only about a third of the way through their wedding video but we’ll alone now so you can experience it for yourself and be inspired to find your own fairytale.

Henderson Park Inn Wedding | Michael + Meredith

I spent several minutes of my day today staring at the photo of all of the opened make-up and brushes. I find it stunning and hope when you look at it you agree. There are so many details in it I just kept working through it going back and forth.

It got me thinking about painting.  I think it looks like a painter’s pallet.  All of the tools and techniques used to create oil paintings or watercolors. As I continued to stare, I saw the make-up and thought about it’s application and the artistry needed to use all of the colors and brushes to express Meredith’s natural beauty. It was her wedding day after all. What a beautiful bride!!!

Eventually, I realized the piece of art I was really so taken with was the photo. This photo inspired me as it took me on a journey. It reminded me photography is art. Wedding Photography and Beach Family Portraits. Engagement Photos and Newborn Session. Our insanely amazing clients serve as the muse on each shoot allowing us to create art we love and they keep forever.

We have to thank Meredith and Michael for having their wedding in Destin and letting us capture their wedding day because it’s wedding photography like theirs that inspires.  (Their Henderson Park Inn Wedding  is featured in The Knot‘s Florida Magazine!! Stayed Tuned.)

With so many of us looking at facebook, twitter, and instagram our lives are full of selfies. We need to revive the art of photography by taking it out of our phones and hanging it on our walls to inspire us everyday.

We should also be embracing Meredith and Michael’s decision to have THREE cakes at their wedding!!! YUM.

Family Beach Photos in Watercolor, FL |Beckett Family

Last summer Lindsey had the opportunity to shoot a 90 minute family beach photo “sunset session” with the Beckett family in Watercolor, FL. As I sit staring at their collection all I can do is smile. From start to finish, the Becketts were a delight. Everything about these people and their photos just makes me happy. I decided I wanted to understand WHY they make me so happy so I took some time to really dig down into the specifics, and I think I finally figured it out.

#1.  Magic.  Some of you may not fully understand this answer but, no matter what, this collection can never be recreated because something aligned that day letting the magic happen.

#2. The Beckett’s were comfortable being themselves.  It’s very clear in these photos their home is filled with love… support doesn’t come at a price and confidence is encouraged. We work hard in every shoot to help our clients relax and have fun. These photos are a perfect example of why.

#3. Timing.  Lindsey moved through the beautiful light mother earth gave her effortlessly (or so it seems). Lighting isn’t always the most cooperative thing, even in the sunshine state, because as you all know…  Mother Earth can often be a fickle one.

#4. Variety.  Some of the photos are traditional poses, while others look completely candid in that “too good to be true” kind of way. (The kind of candid shot some magazines would spend a half a day trying to create!) Plus, Lindsey capitalized on ALL of their surroundings – moving from their beach house, to the lush greens of 30A, and eventually onto the beach we’re known for here in Destin and 30A.  Oh, I can’t leave out having both black & white photos mixed in with color. This is quickly becoming a favorite twist on a portrait collection. (Another great example can be found here.)

#5. The Heirloom Album.  The Becketts loved their photographs so much, that they allowed us to take them ‘out of the computer’ and onto the pages of one of our carefully crafted Heirloom Albums. A testament to how happy these photos make them (and sitting down with a portrait album on your lap to relive memories does so in a way that no computer ever can)!

We hope looking through their photos makes you happy.  We work hard to find the magic in every family and let that lead the way to a timeless photography collection.

Michael + Jordan | Rosemary Beach Wedding Video

If you’ve ever been in a wedding then you know it takes a lot of work to make the “big day” a perfect day. It’s common to hire a wedding planner (and this couple had the ever-so-talented Savoir Faire Weddings), but the bride and groom still have to pick the date and find a venue fitting for their vision. Of course, after all that gets decided the real planning begins!

The wedding party has to be finalized and colors picked.  Then there’s the guest list, wedding photographer, flowers, food, dancing, drinks, decorations and most importantly the wedding videographer! Wait. that’s not right … the dress! The dress is most important. (I guess with Michael and Jordan’s wedding video on the brain, we got a little excited.)

By now you probably get the idea … there’s a lot of details that go into the ceremony and celebrating of a couple when they decide to get married.  Michael and Jordan’s Rosemary Beach wedding was no exception. How do I know? I’ve seen their wedding video!

Our wedding videographer, Alan, recreated their perfect day down to every last detail. His unparalleled ability to shoot and edit left them with a lasting keepsake. The wedding video preserves details that might otherwise be lost over the years as their love story is passed on for generations. He also enjoyed working along Dede & Ginny of Dede Edwards Photography, who were there to photograph this beautiful wedding ceremony & reception. For a full list of the wonderful wedding vendors that came together to give this couple the destination wedding of their dreams, please contact their planner, Stephanie Tate.

Watch Michael and Jordan’s Wedding Video and see how seamlessly the details of their perfect day are celebrated and forever kept safe.

Aerial Real Estate Video | Destin, FL

Have you ever heard the term or saying “the perfect storm?”  Well, this very blog post is just the opposite!  We tried to find an official saying or word describing the opposite of a perfect storm and it doesn’t seem to exist.  That must mean as rare as a perfect storm is, what I’m trying to describe is even more rare. Wish me luck.

By now you’re surely wondering what all the fuss is about so, with no further adieu . . .  It just so happens that March marks Alan, our film-maker’s, two year anniversary at Pure 7 Studios exclusively!

As if that isn’t enough . . . this year in Destin Magazine ‘s “Best In Destin 2015 Readers Choice Awards”  Pure7 was voted BEST WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER! (In case you didn’t know Alan is our wedding videographer.) Clearly Alan and his work speak for themselves.

We knew he was good, great even . . . but we never imagined these past two years would be this great and a ton of fun to boot. He’s truly become part of the family. Not only does he rock at creating one of a kind wedding videos by getting all the right footage which he edits to perfection in our Destin studio – Alan also specializes in Commercial Video, Real Estate Videos, and Aerial Videos and these are just as impressive as his wedding videos.

This post got a bit mushy (sorry not sorry) but it’s only fitting we celebrate Alan and his accomplishments by sharing a beautiful Aerial Real Estate Video he filmed showcasing a bird’s eye view of the Casa Blue vacation rental home at 83 Cobia St. Destin, FL. This commercial film was used by our client to enhance the online listing of their beach rental home, showing its proximity to the beautiful Destin beach.

To see more of Alan’s videos or to book the best wedding videographer in Destin please contact us – we look forward to speaking with you!
