Santa Rosa Beach Wedding Video | Mary & Joe

You’d think after watching dozens of wedding videos filmed and edited by our wedding videographer that it would be easy to keep from getting emotional when we see one. We’re not talking crocodile tears – just a little feeling of love that makes your heart warm and your cheeks move ear to ear. You’re touched because you can see and feel the love that lived on the couple’s big day. Mary and Joe’s Santa Rosa Beach Wedding Video is no exception.

It opens on the brightest of days and sets the tone. Then we get to see Bridesmaids with the Bride and of course the Groomsmen with the Groom. (It’s always fun to see how different guys and girls are when it comes to getting ready.) Next, guests arrive and even though you know exactly what’s coming, you can’t help but be excited to see the ceremony and celebration that is sure to follow.

This couple’s ceremony took place in the beautifully sacred Saint Rita Catholic Church and the reception was at the Lakehouse inside the WaterColor Resort on 30A. The reception donned beautiful statement centerpieces, strung lights, and even a wardrobe change by the dazzling bride. There was such a happy, light energy that carried through to their wedding video. It’s something you just have to see for yourself. Maybe different things will stick out to you as you watch. Either way, one thing is clear- Alan made a beautiful wedding video of Mary and Joe’s wedding day that they can cherish forever.

Cheers to another wonderful wedding and couple we’re proud to call a client here at Pure7® Studios!

If you or someone you know is recently engaged and looking to do a destination wedding here on the Emerald Coast, please contact us for packages and pricing. Our schedule fills up fast with family beach photos, wedding photos, engagement sessions, (and of course wedding videos just like this one).

Wedding Videography Tips|Erin & Aaron

As wedding videos continue to get more popular, it gets harder to feel like yours is different or special. We recognize this dilemma, and want to share a few wedding videography tips to help you find the right person to create your wedding video.  Of course, we’re heavily biased towards our Pure7 Studios wedding videographer, Alan. He’s award-winning and constantly finding ways to give each couple a video that’s just as special as their big day.

Tip #1 – Know your budget.

Like any aspect of a wedding, wedding videos cost money. Some cost a lot of money. If you know you want a wedding video, add it to the budget early. The reason for this? Many couples have to start cutting corners as the final details of their big day come together. Just like the dress or the cake, the cost of a wedding video has a wide range. Know what you’re willing and able to spend and stick to it.

Tip #2 – Don’t Shop Price First.

It sounds like this completely contradicts what we just told you, but hear me out. This is your one and only wedding video. You want the wedding videography to represent you and the vision you’re bringing to your big day. If you shop price first, you’ll lose out on meeting a variety of videographers. By viewing online portfolios first, you can figure out what you connect with (and what you don’t). Maybe, you’re the person that doesn’t feel creative at all-  and you want someone to show up, film, and create a wonderful wedding video. Or maybe, you have very specific moments you want captured. That is why we recommend deciding on what style of video you want first – and then shopping by price.

Tip #3 – Watch More Than Just Wedding Videos.

There’s a lot of wedding videographers out there who shoot more than weddings. Alan (here at Pure7) has filmed commercial videos, fashion shows, art festivals, wedding videos, music festivals, skateboarding videos, and even real estate videos. His passion and abilities push far beyond what one might see in a collection of his wedding videos. Seeing a videographer’s style and ability to create great videos across the board can be eye opening and give you that reassurance you’re going to be happy with the end result. A skilled film-maker knows how to exceed your expectations.

Tip #4 – Start Saving Now.

More often than not… you get what you pay for. Weddings get expensive quickly. There aren’t very many things you can take with you, but a wedding video is one of them. Even with as popular as they are today, people get to the end of their budget and then opt to stick with photography only. While that may not be a mistake for everyone, we hate to hear when a couple wishes they would’ve done a video with their pictures. If you start saving now, odds are better that you’ll get a wedding video and that you’ll be able to work with the videographer you want most.

Along with our tips, we’re excited to share Erin & Aaron’s Sandestin wedding video. It’s a stunning piece that we’re proud to have in our collection and is something  every bride-to-be needs to see. Coordinated by the talented Shelby Peaden of Shelby Peaden Events!

Take Time Out For You | Hutchinson Chiropractic Commercial Video

It’s hard to believe we’re already half way through 2015! By now most of us have stopped and started our New Year’s fitness goals two or even three times. (We’re only pointing fingers at ourselves but kinda hope we’re not alone here.)  Today let’s push through the second half of the year and recommit to being better. Take time out for you and redefine your goals. Write out what it is you need to do to reach those goals.

For us, one of our goals is to continually do work we’re passionate about. Not too long ago we did just that when we sent our videographer, Alan, out to Dr. Hutchinson’s office to shoot a commercial video. What we learned from her is amazing. As a team, we primarily do destination wedding photography , videography and family beach photos. We never dreamed we’d get the opportunity to help Dr. Hutchinson make a commercial where she shares her story an passion for helping people heal.

Take a look for yourself. The vision for this commercial was excellent and the message is clear and powerful. Getting to work with people like Dr Hutchinson is one of many humbling reminders that we are lucky we do what we love in a place we love. If you’re just visiting Fort Walton BeachDestinSeaside,Watercolor or any of the other wonderful beach towns thank you for coming. If you’re one of the lucky locals then we don’t have to tell you how lucky you are to live with the best beaches in the world.

No matter where you’re from, life is too short to live not to fill it will love. We hope you enjoy the commercial video for Hutchinson Chiropractic. If you’re fighting pain, going to her website and learn more about making an appointment and starting your road to recovery.

Timeless Treasures | Wedding Photography for Tess + Jay

Some people just have that effortless and timeless look. You know the one we’re talking about. Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Jaqueline Kennedy, Kate Middleton. They’ve all got it. Today we’re sharing with you the timeless treasures we created as the wedding photographer for Tess and Jay. You’ll see as you look through their wedding photos, Tess is another name we need to add to the list of women with “the look.”

As if her looking the part of a timeless beauty isn’t enough; Tess married her best friend Jay at her family’s picturesque private residence in Destin, Florida. We’re convinced there isn’t a place more perfect for them to say their I do’s because we know all there really is no place like home.  The stunning property leaves nothing to be desired as guests sat along the back balcony and pool looking across the water to watch as Tess and Jay became man and wife.

They had things we never would’ve dreamed of and were once again humbled by the beauty we found ourselves surrounded in. Whether you’re planning a wedding, dreaming up your future wedding, or already married, we hope you are as inspired by their big day as we are.

Fourth of July and Family Beach Photos |Sweeney Family

It’s only appropriate on the Fourth of July we recognize how lucky we are to live in America with the freedoms we have. Day to day it’s very easy to take for granted the luxuries living here brings. For us here at Pure7, we couldn’t agree more with Mr. Emerson.

“America is another name for opportunity”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Here in America we were able to find something we love doing and make a career out of it. On any given day we’re shooting

Without our freedoms we wouldn’t have met the Sweeney family and had the opportunity to take their family beach photos below. They were an incredible family to work with and I know we’ll cherish the chance to photograph them as much as they enjoy having new family photos.

Our freedom doesn’t come free so today’s let us remember all of those unable to celebrate our great country with their loved ones. Whether they are oversees protecting us right now or fallen from fighting the great fight with those before us. Let’s remember them and enjoy the BBQs, Fireworks, Parades and anything else you do to celebrate on the fourth of July in their honor.

We try to do this all year and when we’re prepping to go shoot we try and take a minute and appreciate the fact that we live in a county where it’s possible to follow your dreams doing something you love and have it turn into a reality.  ON this the Fourth of July, take a minute to think about all of the little luxuries you have living in the land of the free. It might help you enjoy and celebrate today and everyday just a little bit more.

A Wedding Video in Watersound | Caroline & Nick

I can safely say if I saw Caroline and Nick’s Wedding Video without every having met her, I would want Caroline to be my very best friend. Her expressions are priceless and just from watching this video you really do get a sneak peak at her soul. Seriously, watch the wedding video and then try and tell me she didn’t seem like the most fun loving, carefree bride. She was so at ease it’s almost unfair.

Caroline’s cool, calm, collected vibes are no doubt because of the overwhelming love she gets from Nick. He clearly completes her and supports her in a way only he knows how. More than once Caroline and Nick left us and entered their own little world. They shared some amazing little moments that will now live on forever.  That’s what is so inspiring to us about wedding videos.

Wedding Videos are still relatively new historically. The memories that we are now able to capture now leave us in awe sometimes. Photography has changed because of videography.  Watching what Alan was able to do with the footage from Caroline and Nick’s definitely left us in awe. We hope you feel the same and fall in love with Caroline and Nick just as much as we have.

Back to You | Jan-Allison & Tyler’s Wedding Video

Almost three months ago our awesome videographer Alan went to Rosemary Beach, FL to film the wedding day of Jan-Allison and Tyler. Not too long after, Alan finished editing all of their  footage and we posted the final creation on our facebook page. The video views just started to climb and the video sort of took on a life of its own. We are incredibly proud of the final product so today we are coming back to you – this time on our blog – with that very wedding video.

It’s one of our most viewed wedding videos to date and hopefully an inspiration to anyone getting married and sitting on the fence about whether or not to go for it and get a video. If it still doesn’t put you over the edge, check out one of our recent posts specifically addressing the “do we or don’t we” question. You only get married once and while we know choosing your wedding photographer and videographer isn’t quite as personal as choosing your mate, it’s a pretty big deal come your big day. There is nothing worse to us than meeting someone who looks back on their wedding day with unfulfilled wishes.

On a happier note and with no further adieu. We present to you Jan-Allison and Tyler’s Wedding Video.

Please contact with any pricing or availability questions. We’ll happily get back to you!

Saying I Do to a Wedding Video| Kelly & Brian

We know weddings are expensive so understand the struggle is real when couples are trying to decide whether or not to save or splurge on a wedding video. Every detail in a wedding quickly turns into dollar signs and it’s easy to lose sight of the things that matter most. For that reason, we want to help our awesome #pure7couples decide whether or not a wedding video is right for them by sharing some of the reasons we’re saying I Do to a wedding video.

Say I Do to going back in time.  The ceremony is often a blur for the bride and groom and without a video, they don’t get to see everything that happens. Anything they did experience was probably quickly forgotten as they pushed through the overwhelming emotions and celebration.  It’s also priceless to have a way to go back in time, listen to the vows and see the expressions on your faces and on the faces of those who love you and came to celebrate with you.

Say I Do to see what you missed.   Photos won’t have the music that was playing or the laughter during a toast, the well thought out words in a vow, or the sizzle of the sparklers everyone is holding in celebration as you make your official exit. So many missed moments can be found in a video. Kelly and Brian’s Rosemary Beach wedding video below is the perfect example of this. Much of the sound comes from moments they likely forgot or never heard in the first place. Now they have those memories forever.

Say I Do for the people who couldn’t make it. Without fail, there will be somebody important to you that couldn’t make it, including future family members who may not even be born yet. A video gives you the opportunity to share your wedding with them anytime, anywhere.

Say I Do to living without regret. We can happily say we’ve never had a client or a couple regret choosing to have a wedding video made. Even those who were on the fence about it at first came around wholeheartedly as they watched the highlights of their wedding day in motion picture. We would hate for anyone to look back on their wedding day wishing with regret.

If you’re still unsure, watching Kelly and Ryan’s wedding video below (as well as any other of our wedding videos) may help you decide. Coordination by Angela Stone, of Todd Events.

Family Photo Tips | Burton Family

Have you ever had a friend or family member come try and take some family photos and felt awkward because you didn’t know how to pose or what to wear? Do you take countless photos with your phone but never take the time to get them printed or organized? It seems today with technology at all our finger tips photography isn’t as fun or meaningful as it can be. To try and “bring sexy back” to photography we put together a list of some of our family photo tips so you can get the most out of your family photos. Below are the Burton’s and their family beach portraits measured up against all our tips. You can look at them for examples.

Pick a Palette. Deciding what to where can always be VERY stressful when trying to dress a group. Everybody has their own ideas about what looks good. Your clothing is meant to enhance your look, not distract from it. Our best advice to accomplish that is to stick to three colors at the most. Then you’re coordinating and everyone can wear their own style. Along with liking what you’re wearing, picking something that flatters is key. If something doesn’t fit right, you won’t be comfortable and it will show. The Burton’s picked blue, white, and a red/coral color. Everything goes great together so your eye isn’t distracted by something that feels out of place or mismatched.

Bend the Body. In life we are constantly moving around. Bending our knees to run, sit, or jump. We bend our arms to wave at someone, eat, text, and work. We turn our heads to get a different point of view whether we want to get the sun out of our eyes or get a better look at something far away. The point is, you need to be natural and bend the body when you take your photos. Don’t stand or sit stiff. In every single family portrait of the Burtons they have bend in the body. They look alive with natural movement. Notice the hand on the hip, sitting cross legged, an arm behind someone, and even holding hands.

Get Goofy. Here’s your chance to really showcase who you are. Feel free to make jokes, laugh, dance, and just be exactly who you are. We realize this is easier said than done, but look at any two photos where one group is sitting in a perfect pose with stiff smiles to the camera and the other is the first family photo in our collection below. None of the Burtons are looking at the camera and it almost looks like it could be a candid shot between actual shots. That’s the beauty of getting goofy. We’d rather look at the Burton’s any day because their photo tells a story as each person is expressing part of their personality.

Hire a Professional. This is probably the best tip we can give you about family photos. We hear over and over how people are taking all of their photos with their phone but doing nothing with them. They just sit on the phone or a hard drive waiting for someone to “get to it” so they can be organized, printed and put on display. On top of that, lighting, focus, framing, making sure everyone has fun and getting the shot is what we do. It makes for a stress free experience after which we offer you a variety of ways to make a keepsake you can display or share for years and years to come.

Hopefully these tips come in handy as you take your next trip or have a fun family day you want to remember. If you have any tips you’d like to add, please do so in the comments below.

First Family Beach Photos in Destin, FL | Bennett Family

It is said, “good things come to those who wait.” We’d like to think when it came to the Bennett’s first family beach photos we had a hand in making that come true. See,  a little over a year ago Amanda reached out to us wanting to do a professional photo shoot with her family because they’d never taken professional photos of their son. We set an appointment during their vacation to Miramar Beach here on the Emerald Coast and the rest is history.

When we finally got to meet the Bennetts for their session, we couldn’t wait to get started. Being the first portrait photographer to capture their child’s innocence and personality on camera just tickled us. We had a great time on the beach getting to know them and couldn’t be happier with the collection of family portraits we created for them.

One of the best parts of their beach portraits was the way they used the natural beauty of our unmatched beaches.  Instead of using the emerald green water behind them for every shot, we also used the natural vegetation and flowers making a perfect backdrop as we photographed fun family moments. Of course, it wouldn’t matter how beautiful the background was without a great family to work with.

The Bennett’s photos only turned out so great because of their willingness to be themselves in front of the camera. While some of the photos are of the family sitting posed, most of the day was spent getting great shots of them just interacting. They experienced a new first together as a family on the beach that day, and it was our pleasure to be with them preserving the memories they made. We feel so lucky to have met them and couldn’t be more proud they asked us to take their first professional family portrait.
