a real princess wedding to remember……

When Katie and I spoke on the phone back in August, I immediately fell in love with her cheerful disposition. Throughout the months leading up to her wedding, every-time we have met with and talked to her she has been nothing but sweet, charming and enthusiastic. Ironically enough, Katie has worked at Disney as a real-life princess! Over the coming months, Joslyn was so excited to hear that her daddy was shooting “a real, live, princess’s wedding”! Well, this princess finally found her true life Prince Charming and this wedding certainly was a dream come true (no puns intended)! Katie and her fiance (now husband!), Jonathan, are so obviously in love and it came right through in the images. We absolutely can’t wait to photograph “the real, live, Princess’s baby” in a few years?!?  Thanks, Katie & Jonathan, for inviting us into and allowing us to be there for this wonderful day in your lives… we wish upon a star you many more! Xoxo, Erica

baby skylar’s milestone collection; session 2! ~ Destin Photographer

we are so blessed to have been chosen by genevieve & alan to provide the photography for the entire 1st year of their adorable daughter skylar! by choosing our milestones collection, we get to hang out and photograph them often which is such a treat. skylar changed SO much from her newborn session to her 6 month session that we hardly recognized her! they chose to switch it up and do a beach session for her 6 month session and i have to say the resulting images were some of our ALL TIME FAVORITES! in fact, we used the images to create a fabulous new wall gallery that is proudly displayed in the studio. genevieve & alan… thank you so much for choosing us to document the amazing 1st year of your precious daughter. we look forward to seeing you all again soon! ~erica

hunter + brittnay = a rockstar wedding

Where to begin?!?  We’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Hunter over the past 3 years through our amazing church, Shoreline.  His friendship has been a blessing to us over the years, in addition to witnessing his amazing musical talent while watching his band, Heritage, perform at many local venues.  We’ve always known God had someone amazing in store for Hunter, but were careful not to be one of those people always trying to set him up… as we quickly realized this was something he hated with a passion.  Well, God came through better than anyone else ever could have, and He did not disappoint!   Insert Brittnay.  A drop-dead-gorgeous, daisy-duke wearin’, line-dancin’ Nebraska girl!   On the outside, Brittnay is obviously beautiful.  But lets face it… beautiful (and not-so-beautiful) women have been throwing themselves at Hunter for centuries decades so there was something in addition to her beauty that captivated him the very 1st night they met.  In the short time we’ve known her, we’ve found her to be intelligent, witty, ambitious, kind, and just an all-around fun person to be around.  Not to mention an amazing mother to her beautiful 7 year old daughter, Taylor.  When they 1st started planning their ‘Rock Your Gypsy Soul’ themed wedding we were so excited.  It’s not every day we get to photograph a musically themed wedding, and this one was totally awesome!  If you are interested in learning more about this awesome couple and their musical journey, be sure to check out their super cool wedding blog which they used to update friends and family in the months leading up to their “One Day”.  Brittnay’s friend from back home, Jessica A. Hansen (Beauty and Fashion Consultant) did hair and makeup for the bride and bridesmaids, and she also made Brittnay’s ‘reception dress’ from scratch using the top of Brittnay’s mothers wedding dress. How cool is that? The beachside ceremony was held at the quaint  Henderson Park Inn.  It was foggy.  Very foggy.  Which definitely added to the mood, but all of the guests looked like a hot mess*, myself included!  *Please note: Brittnay and Hunter looked fabulous, everyone else = a hot mess.   Hunter and his father, Dan Dawson, custom designed and built the beautiful arbor. Beautiful mama-to-be Renee Armour of Chez renee provided the awesome vintage rentals utilized for the ceremony which added such a great touch.  Immediately after the ceremony, all of their family, friends, loves ones, and guests were invited to toss rocks into the sea, which was really terrifying as half of them were aimed directly at Ryan & Lindsey’s cameras cool.  The reception didn’t disappoint and there were so many great elements.  The amazing ‘Rock Your Gypsy Soul’ guitar sign at the entrance was done by amazing local artist, Andy Saczynki.  Sally, of Florals by the Sea not only did the amazing bride and bridesmaids bouquets but also the event design, turning a ‘night-club’ themed reception into a totally sexy (yet romantic), amazing scene!  Our favorite restaurant in the whole wide world, Bistro Bijoux catered the reception so the food (including the rainbow colored cake and cupcakes with EDIBLE butterflies) was *of course* to die for.  The awesome chicks from RSVP coordinated, and  A Sound Impression (from Nebraska!) did the videography (as well as their fantastic engagement video shown during the reception).  Several local artists performed that evening, including a very special performance by Dannica Lowery during which Brittnay surprised Hunter by changing into her adorable reception dress and joining Dannica onstage and serenading Hunter!  The song they sang is a MUST HEAR (Kina Grannis; Valentine), and it is guaranteed to be your new favorite song!  Heritage also did a surprise performance which of course made me want to throw my bra onstage rocked the house!   Wesley Heath also performed which was super fantastic, and then the BEST DJ EVER!, Brian ‘B-Boy’ Buonassissi of B-boy Productions served up the rest of the yum-yum-yum-delicioso musical soup for the rest of the evening.  Needless to say, the dancefloor was never empty!  Thank you, Hunter & Brittnay, for not only your friendship but for choosing pure7studios to photograph your ONE DAY!!!  We love you guys and can’t wait to watch what God has in store for your family!   ~Erica

baby nora~ newborn & 6-month milestones sessions

tara & josh 1st came for their newborn session with baby nora back in july. they are one of the many patients of the awesome dr. graham from sacred heart that we have been blessed to meet and photograph over the past 2 years. dr. g holds a special place in our hearts as she delivered our youngest, paxton, in december of 2008.

baby nora, as you can see, was a doll then but when we saw them again for their 6-month session last week we were amazed at how much she’d changed! she is still just a teeny precious little peanut, but 6 month olds are just so full of life and personality as you can see in the valentines day inspired images! when they came back to the studio for the previewing session, nora sat through almost 2 hours of tara & i ogling their proofs and putting an album together and never made 1 peep!

thank you, tara & josh, for choosing us to document the 1st year in nora’s life. we cannot wait to see her (and you!) again in july for her 1 year session! 🙂

heather is havin a bebe

we were so excited to capture this amazing time in bill & heather’s life for many reasons. first, they are our first patients of the amazing dr. kenton from sacred heart that we are blessed to photograph! second, erica and bill went to middle & high school together and it is always a treat to see old friends again! as you can see, pregnancy suits heather VERY well as she looks adorable. honestly, all pregnant women do. they are glowing! we absolutely cannot wait to meet and photograph their little girl, leyton, in march! here are some of our favorites from their maternity session and stay tuned in a little over a month for some from their newborn session!

kevin & deanna’s emerald grande wedding! ~VIE magazine’s legendary wedding giveaway

When approached in fall of 2009 with the exciting “Legendary Wedding Giveaway” via VIE – People + Places Magazine, we were immediately intrigued. First, we absolutely loved VIE Magazine since we laid eyes on their 1st edition in Spring of 2008. When we found out the vendors involved in the giveaway, which happened to be some of our favorites to work with, we jumped onboard and never looked back! We were also totally psyched when they chose our image to be used in the promotional materials for the giveaway as their Spring 2010 issue’s cover! It was totally unexpected but we were of course very flattered and overjoyed! Over 1,500 couples entered for a chance to win this fabulous wedding, with the “grande” winners being Kevin & Deanna! We were super excited when we found out they won, as Erica has known Deanna from visiting the salon she works at (Ya-Ya’s Salon in Destin), we have lots of mutual friends and former clients would be in attendance. VIE did an awesome job filming the couple as they met with all of the vendors to plan their wedding, airing them on their cool reality webisode series, VIEtv. The day of the wedding, Deanna was cool as cucumber (Kevin was too!) and looked stunning in her beautiful dress from Simply Elegant. The intimate ceremony took place overlooking the breathtaking Destin Harbor, atop the Emerald Grande captain’s deck. Their cute-as-a-button daughter, Ava, was one of the flower girls, which was very special. After the ceremony the sun was sinking too fast to take the H2O shuttle over to the beach so the bride, groom and bridal party hammed it up for some fun pictures on the docks by the harbor. The groom and groomsmen even piled on top of a mountain of ice in a freezer used for packing fish.. thanks for that great photo-op suggestion, Kevin. Unfortunately, that shot did not make the blog! The ballroom was used for the elegant and beautiful reception, with gorgeous florals by the magnificent Sally and her killer crew from  Florals By The Sea (who provided all of the amazing flowers for the bridal parties, ceremony, reception, etc.). The food was delicious, as was the brilliant cake made to match the brides dress, by the ever-so-talented Rhonda of  Confections On The Coast. The couple, their family, and friends all partied the night away to tunes mixed by the fabulous DJ Zoran… SO entertaining!!! Ryan commented that this was definitely one of the craziest, most fun couples he has shot to date! Thanks, Kevin & Deanna, for allowing us to share in your super crazy, sexy-cool wedding!!!

jo + eddie = forever

if you are privileged enough to know jo & eddie then you know what a purely sweet couple they are.  we could not stop saying that about them when we first met to discuss their plans.  they are both serving our country in the united states air force so, appropriately, they planned their ceremonious nuptials on the eglin air force base.  we were so luckily blessed with some beautiful october weather and a photogenic couple.  we were already familiar with their style and personalities since we shot their engagement session out at alys beach earlier this year.  eddie is from the virgin islands so he had family that traveled from many miles (including a very colorful older brother)!  once the ceremony and bridal pictures were finished, the reception started and the couple’s family & friends didn’t leave the dance floor until it was absolutely necessary.  we had such a great time with you jo & eddie and can’t wait to see you again very soon!
