Timeless Treasures | Wedding Photography for Tess + Jay

Some people just have that effortless and timeless look. You know the one we’re talking about. Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Jaqueline Kennedy, Kate Middleton. They’ve all got it. Today we’re sharing with you the timeless treasures we created as the wedding photographer for Tess and Jay. You’ll see as you look through their wedding photos, Tess is another name we need to add to the list of women with “the look.”

As if her looking the part of a timeless beauty isn’t enough; Tess married her best friend Jay at her family’s picturesque private residence in Destin, Florida. We’re convinced there isn’t a place more perfect for them to say their I do’s because we know all there really is no place like home.  The stunning property leaves nothing to be desired as guests sat along the back balcony and pool looking across the water to watch as Tess and Jay became man and wife.

They had things we never would’ve dreamed of and were once again humbled by the beauty we found ourselves surrounded in. Whether you’re planning a wedding, dreaming up your future wedding, or already married, we hope you are as inspired by their big day as we are.

Fourth of July and Family Beach Photos |Sweeney Family

It’s only appropriate on the Fourth of July we recognize how lucky we are to live in America with the freedoms we have. Day to day it’s very easy to take for granted the luxuries living here brings. For us here at Pure7, we couldn’t agree more with Mr. Emerson.

“America is another name for opportunity”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Here in America we were able to find something we love doing and make a career out of it. On any given day we’re shooting

Without our freedoms we wouldn’t have met the Sweeney family and had the opportunity to take their family beach photos below. They were an incredible family to work with and I know we’ll cherish the chance to photograph them as much as they enjoy having new family photos.

Our freedom doesn’t come free so today’s let us remember all of those unable to celebrate our great country with their loved ones. Whether they are oversees protecting us right now or fallen from fighting the great fight with those before us. Let’s remember them and enjoy the BBQs, Fireworks, Parades and anything else you do to celebrate on the fourth of July in their honor.

We try to do this all year and when we’re prepping to go shoot we try and take a minute and appreciate the fact that we live in a county where it’s possible to follow your dreams doing something you love and have it turn into a reality.  ON this the Fourth of July, take a minute to think about all of the little luxuries you have living in the land of the free. It might help you enjoy and celebrate today and everyday just a little bit more.

A Wedding Video in Watersound | Caroline & Nick

I can safely say if I saw Caroline and Nick’s Wedding Video without every having met her, I would want Caroline to be my very best friend. Her expressions are priceless and just from watching this video you really do get a sneak peak at her soul. Seriously, watch the wedding video and then try and tell me she didn’t seem like the most fun loving, carefree bride. She was so at ease it’s almost unfair.

Caroline’s cool, calm, collected vibes are no doubt because of the overwhelming love she gets from Nick. He clearly completes her and supports her in a way only he knows how. More than once Caroline and Nick left us and entered their own little world. They shared some amazing little moments that will now live on forever.  That’s what is so inspiring to us about wedding videos.

Wedding Videos are still relatively new historically. The memories that we are now able to capture now leave us in awe sometimes. Photography has changed because of videography.  Watching what Alan was able to do with the footage from Caroline and Nick’s definitely left us in awe. We hope you feel the same and fall in love with Caroline and Nick just as much as we have.

We Duked It Out |Family Beach Photos at Henderson Beach State Park

Today we’re excited to share another great collection. It’s family beach photos of the Duke family. Working with them reminded us we have the best clients. Ones who push us to be more creative and have more fun as we work together to make memories they can keep forever. What you’re about to see is the end result of when we Duked it out at Henderson Beach State Park.

The first thing we want to point about about these photos is Mrs. Duke. Every single photos of her is just a sparkle of love. How she feels about her family is so clear in every shot. There’s no guard up. She’s not worried about the camera’s angle or “looking pretty” she’s just present in the moment with her family. As you look through their family portraits you’ll quickly see that’s the most beautiful thing of all.

The rest of the family looks pretty great too. These four are truly in sync despite their individual personalities and style. Speaking of style, we couldn’t show you these photos and not comment on the outfits. Some “what to wear in photos” blog posts might warn against having multiple patterns and colors but the Dukes look awesome. It just proves that while their are great guidelines that even we suggest, ultimately the rules are, there are no rules!

Here at Pure7 Studios we are here to help you make the best memories last forever. To create works of art you can hang on your walls, display in photo albums, and share on social media with your friends and family. Thanks to the Dukes for opening up their hearts to us in order to create their family beach photos.

Back to You | Jan-Allison & Tyler’s Wedding Video

Almost three months ago our awesome videographer Alan went to Rosemary Beach, FL to film the wedding day of Jan-Allison and Tyler. Not too long after, Alan finished editing all of their  footage and we posted the final creation on our facebook page. The video views just started to climb and the video sort of took on a life of its own. We are incredibly proud of the final product so today we are coming back to you – this time on our blog – with that very wedding video.

It’s one of our most viewed wedding videos to date and hopefully an inspiration to anyone getting married and sitting on the fence about whether or not to go for it and get a video. If it still doesn’t put you over the edge, check out one of our recent posts specifically addressing the “do we or don’t we” question. You only get married once and while we know choosing your wedding photographer and videographer isn’t quite as personal as choosing your mate, it’s a pretty big deal come your big day. There is nothing worse to us than meeting someone who looks back on their wedding day with unfulfilled wishes.

On a happier note and with no further adieu. We present to you Jan-Allison and Tyler’s Wedding Video.

Please contact with any pricing or availability questions. We’ll happily get back to you!

Fun Family Portraits in Topsail Hill Preserve State Park | Seale Family

We aren’t sharing our fun family portraits of the Seale family to make you jealous. We promise! It just felt rude not to share because the Seale’s are just so footloose, fancy free and everything a family portraits photographer dreams about. If you’re not careful you might start dreaming about them too. We sure wouldn’t blame you for it.

The only thing we’d blame you for is not sticking around long enough to scroll through all of their family photos below.  Every single one is different. Every. Single. One. They aren’t just different framing from one another but as a collection. Honestly, we’ve seen and even taken some of the most incredible family photos but none of them quite like these. The Seale’s stepped a little left of traditional.

That’s part of why their photos turned out so great. They looked sharp. We’re loving one of the newest trends where one family member (usually mom or daughter) wears a bold pattern and everyone pulls a color from it. On top of that, no one was stiff or uncomfortable. Working with them in Topsail Hill Preserve State Park felt like recess where everyone just wanted to play photo shoot. (If that’s not a recess game then it should be!)

The bottom line. We were able to curate this collection to include black and white photos, beach and mountain-like photos,  playful action shots, and even a few traditional shots because of the Seale’s open minded confidence. In the moment some might get mad to see bunny ears, running around not staying in place and kids who don’t look straight at the camera. In the camera lens, it makes the photo.

It’s a Wonderful Life in Watercolor | The Woolseys

We know it’s not Christmas time and we didn’t take pictures of anyone named George Bailey. But here at Pure 7 Studios we spent a family portrait session with the Woolsey family in Watercolor, FL. (Try saying that five times fast!) Looking back at their family portraits remind us why it’s a wonderful life. When things are wonderful we can’t keep it to ourselves.

He’s only three months old but we got to see some great personality from this little guy. Learning and seeing new things in the world for the first time. Watching him take it all in was priceless. Look at all of his different expressions below. Now just imagine what he’s thinking. How cool would it be if as adults we could remember our first thoughts. Perhaps we’d all show more appreciation for the little things.

Things like having a healthy and happy little one. It’s easy to forget how many couples face additional challenges and struggle to find ways for their child to grow up with the comforts today’s world can offer. Families come in all shapes and sizes and like George Bailey’s family, they come with a story. The Woolseys are writing the next chapter in theirs and since they smiled in awe the whole time, we think it’s going to be a good one.

It’s no secret we all face insecurities and struggles but there is much to be thankful for. Take our Pure7 Challenge and think of a few reasons why it truly is a wonderful life. Share one of them in the comments below or on social media with the #pure7challenge. Together we can make a wonderful life even better as we see the world through each other’s eyes.

All You Need is Love | Lindsie + Shane on Alys Beach

Exactly one week ago we were in the thick of fulfilling our sponsorship duties at Digital Graffiti. Alan and Ryan kicked butt shooting the event non-stop for three days. If you missed it, there are a few sneak peaks of this year’s event on our Instagram. Despite all the long hours and hard work, we love Digital Graffiti and all you need is love… right?

Today, in honor of Alys Beach and love, we’re sharing Lindsie and Shane’s one of a kind Alys Beach wedding. You won’t have to scroll through too many photos to figure out  how different their pictures are from other wedding pictures. Lindsie has a spark unlike any other, and the camera couldn’t help but capture it shot after shot. She looks as grounded and easygoing as she is, making both the wedding day shooting and post wedding work that much better.

Another thing making their collection unique is the lack of stiff posed photos. Lindsie and Shane were so free and really allowed us to be creative and try new things. We love building that relationship and trust with our clients. It helps everybody win!

Cheers to Lindsie and Shane. May their life be as one of a kind as they are.

Saying I Do to a Wedding Video| Kelly & Brian

We know weddings are expensive so understand the struggle is real when couples are trying to decide whether or not to save or splurge on a wedding video. Every detail in a wedding quickly turns into dollar signs and it’s easy to lose sight of the things that matter most. For that reason, we want to help our awesome #pure7couples decide whether or not a wedding video is right for them by sharing some of the reasons we’re saying I Do to a wedding video.

Say I Do to going back in time.  The ceremony is often a blur for the bride and groom and without a video, they don’t get to see everything that happens. Anything they did experience was probably quickly forgotten as they pushed through the overwhelming emotions and celebration.  It’s also priceless to have a way to go back in time, listen to the vows and see the expressions on your faces and on the faces of those who love you and came to celebrate with you.

Say I Do to see what you missed.   Photos won’t have the music that was playing or the laughter during a toast, the well thought out words in a vow, or the sizzle of the sparklers everyone is holding in celebration as you make your official exit. So many missed moments can be found in a video. Kelly and Brian’s Rosemary Beach wedding video below is the perfect example of this. Much of the sound comes from moments they likely forgot or never heard in the first place. Now they have those memories forever.

Say I Do for the people who couldn’t make it. Without fail, there will be somebody important to you that couldn’t make it, including future family members who may not even be born yet. A video gives you the opportunity to share your wedding with them anytime, anywhere.

Say I Do to living without regret. We can happily say we’ve never had a client or a couple regret choosing to have a wedding video made. Even those who were on the fence about it at first came around wholeheartedly as they watched the highlights of their wedding day in motion picture. We would hate for anyone to look back on their wedding day wishing with regret.

If you’re still unsure, watching Kelly and Ryan’s wedding video below (as well as any other of our wedding videos) may help you decide. Coordination by Angela Stone, of Todd Events.
