The saying, “April showers bring May flowers” certainly was true at Shannon’s and Ryan’s tropical bohemian WaterColor wedding last month. A wonderfully warm spring day along the Emerald Coast was the perfect backdrop for this lush, colorful wedding at one of 30A‘s choice wedding venues.
With the bride wearing an absolutely fabulous flower crown and her dream gown by Israeli designer Berta, how could this gorgeous day be anything less than perfect? As you scroll through these photos, which are a mix of digital and film images, you’ll see how every detail, from the mini-crown for the flower girl to the bride’s crystal headpiece worn for post-ceremony photos, came together to make it exactly that: perfect.
Since they went on their first date a couple years ago, thanks to Tinder (for real!), Shannon and Ryan have been intentional about making sure their social media match has the depth to stick in real life. From sharing old family traditions like summer vacations on 30A to building new ones that include morning coffee and evening walks, it’s clear that their relationship is their priority. Shannon describes Ryan as the calm to her storm, and said the most memorable moment of her Bohemian WaterColor wedding was when they read their vows to each other because they were so heartfelt and personal. But not every part of the day was serious. As we learned during our fly-on-the-wall coverage of their big day, their other priority definitely is having fun.
There were a few hilarious incidents at the reception (if you were there, you know what we’re talking about) that we’re pretty sure will be recounted in stories for years to come. And that’s all we’ll say about that. ;) What we can tell you about are the fun decor elements – like the Pineapple theme woven through everything from the invitations to the centerpieces and the floating swan and flamingo in the pool at the reception venue, because Shannon was determined there would nothing bland at this party. There would be no traditional guestbook for this couple, either. Instead, they opted for a custom Jenga set and had everyone sign a game piece. As fans of our own family game nights, we absolutely loved this idea!
Per their awesome wedding hashtag, #twoRickettstoparadise, Shannon and Ryan are heading to Tahiti at the end of the summer for their honeymoon. They’re hoping to be back next summer with a new little Rickett and, we gotta be honest, we’re already looking forward to shooting that
family session!
