Contrast and Color in Alys Beach Wedding Photos| Caroline & Matt

Sometimes you see things and they just speak to you. For some unexplainable reason this experience is a game changer. Well, Caroline and Matt’s wedding – and now wedding photos –  were a game changer for us.  Alys Beach is known for its impeccably white walls and Caroline’s vision incorporated contrast and color everywhere, which was probably a first for the beach town.

These two aren’t like other couples so it only makes sense their photos didn’t turn out like other wedding photos. Ryan and Lindsey were able to frame photos so the colors convey a sense of movement and playfulness matching the newlyweds personalities spot on. Truth be told, Caroline and Matt just being “Caroline and Matt” really make the wedding photos.  Their ability to be playful and loud in some moments while others are timeless black and whites also contributed to Ryan and Lindsey delivering a stunning photo collection.

Seeing the contrasting mixture inspires and reminds us there is always room to play and push the edge of what seems right or comfortable. It’s truly magical how well it all came together. Look at the ceremony with the guests. Could they have “dressed the part” any better? And the blue of the sea and sky. Even as locals it’s hard to believe its real. The day couldn’t have been any better and Caroline and Matt cherished every moment with their family and friends.

We are so thankful for them and all little wedding “wins” that aligned so we could create this special collection of wedding photos so Caroline and Matt can look back on their big day.

Watercolor Wonderland | Laura + Bobby

Sometimes you look at wedding photos and you feel like you really get a sense of how everything looked and felt. Other times you see the wedding photos and you just wish you were there. Laura and Bobby’s Watercolor Wonderland of a wedding was the latter. If someone looks through all of the wedding photos below and then tries to tell us they don’t feel like they missed out… we’ll call them a liar.

From getting ready in the rooms to getting down on the dance floor this wedding really seems to have it all. For starters, Laura had ten beautiful bridesmaids! This means ten dresses, hairstyles, make up sessions, and lots and lots of pictures. We don’t often shoot weddings with such a big wedding party so we took some creative liberties with this group. They had such an energy about them. So much personality and of course, more love for the bride and groom than any two people could possible comprehend.

The entire wedding and celebration is no doubt one for the books. Or in today’s modern world, one for the boards. (We’re talking about Pinterest.)  The flowers hanging in the trees created the perfect backdrop for the ceremony which took place in front of friends and family. Every detail was well thought out and perfectly executed. It’s hard to believe it’s over.

Like Laura and Bobby, we’re so grateful for these wedding photos so we can remember their big day and just how big of a wedding whirlwind it was.

All You Need is Love | Lindsie + Shane on Alys Beach

Exactly one week ago we were in the thick of fulfilling our sponsorship duties at Digital Graffiti. Alan and Ryan kicked butt shooting the event non-stop for three days. If you missed it, there are a few sneak peaks of this year’s event on our Instagram. Despite all the long hours and hard work, we love Digital Graffiti and all you need is love… right?

Today, in honor of Alys Beach and love, we’re sharing Lindsie and Shane’s one of a kind Alys Beach wedding. You won’t have to scroll through too many photos to figure out  how different their pictures are from other wedding pictures. Lindsie has a spark unlike any other, and the camera couldn’t help but capture it shot after shot. She looks as grounded and easygoing as she is, making both the wedding day shooting and post wedding work that much better.

Another thing making their collection unique is the lack of stiff posed photos. Lindsie and Shane were so free and really allowed us to be creative and try new things. We love building that relationship and trust with our clients. It helps everybody win!

Cheers to Lindsie and Shane. May their life be as one of a kind as they are.

Saying I Do to a Wedding Video| Kelly & Brian

We know weddings are expensive so understand the struggle is real when couples are trying to decide whether or not to save or splurge on a wedding video. Every detail in a wedding quickly turns into dollar signs and it’s easy to lose sight of the things that matter most. For that reason, we want to help our awesome #pure7couples decide whether or not a wedding video is right for them by sharing some of the reasons we’re saying I Do to a wedding video.

Say I Do to going back in time.  The ceremony is often a blur for the bride and groom and without a video, they don’t get to see everything that happens. Anything they did experience was probably quickly forgotten as they pushed through the overwhelming emotions and celebration.  It’s also priceless to have a way to go back in time, listen to the vows and see the expressions on your faces and on the faces of those who love you and came to celebrate with you.

Say I Do to see what you missed.   Photos won’t have the music that was playing or the laughter during a toast, the well thought out words in a vow, or the sizzle of the sparklers everyone is holding in celebration as you make your official exit. So many missed moments can be found in a video. Kelly and Brian’s Rosemary Beach wedding video below is the perfect example of this. Much of the sound comes from moments they likely forgot or never heard in the first place. Now they have those memories forever.

Say I Do for the people who couldn’t make it. Without fail, there will be somebody important to you that couldn’t make it, including future family members who may not even be born yet. A video gives you the opportunity to share your wedding with them anytime, anywhere.

Say I Do to living without regret. We can happily say we’ve never had a client or a couple regret choosing to have a wedding video made. Even those who were on the fence about it at first came around wholeheartedly as they watched the highlights of their wedding day in motion picture. We would hate for anyone to look back on their wedding day wishing with regret.

If you’re still unsure, watching Kelly and Ryan’s wedding video below (as well as any other of our wedding videos) may help you decide. Coordination by Angela Stone, of Todd Events.

Lauren & Trey’s Seaside Beach Wedding

When Jennifer {“Jen2”} from It’s a Shore Thing popped in one afternoon with Lauren to chat about the possibility of us photographing her upcoming Seaside Chapel wedding, we spent the next couple hours giddy with excitement after getting to know this sweet girl from Arkansas.  Not only do we love Seaside weddings, we also love a bride who we immediately click with.  They had spent the day talking flowers and food and cake and all-things wedding, so by the time they got to us, we were like, “Helloooo, let’s have this amazing wedding tomorrow!”  Jen the wedding planner basically thought we had lost our marbles {which sometimes happens when we get giddy with excitement; especially that Erica – she even starts climbing walls and running laps around the studio sometimes}, so we decided we put on our patient pants and wait until April rolled around for Lauren & Trey’s pretty wedding. And boy, oh boy, was it ever pretty!

We arrived to find our gorgeous bride getting dolled up by the oh-so-talented Johnathan Doria and Deana Kale, and even stumbled across all of Lauren’s wicked-fun details.  A cute weekend welcome packet, a gorgeous old Bible wrapped in ribbon for the sweet ring bearer to tote down the aisle, and a pair of sparkly pumps that made our little cameras do a slight backflip.  UH-dorable.  Oh, and did we mention the dress?   Sigh.  Being a wedding photographer is really hard sometimes.

We moseyed on over to the pretty white chapel for their sweet nuptials, then on to the drool-worthy {also known as reallydarnpretty} Lyceum Lawn reception, where we were ecstatic to find lawn games (hi, have you heard of life-sized Jenga?  Yeah, us either and it was pretty great), more sparkles, a chevron cake, and a whole night’s worth of boogie-down tunes.  Oh!  There was also a very fabulous church pew awaiting our arrival for those amazing beach sunset photos . . . all Lauren’s idea!  (We failed to mention that being a 30A wedding photographer is also really hard sometimes.)

Wanna see a Seaside beach wedding photographer in-action?  Well then lookie here:

Ever so grateful for the AMAZING team of wedding professionals that worked so hard to bring this gorgeous day together for two special people!
