Rosemary Beach Summer| Burnley Family Photos

A Rosemary Beach summer is one of the best. Last summer when we met the Burnleys was no exception. Jennifer reached out to us wanting family beach portraits with an emphasis on the two kids. In the process of setting everything up we got to know her a little bit. One of the things we learned was her two favorite charity organizations: Orphan Care Network and Addi’s Faith Foundation.

Orphan Care Network came to be when a group of families in the Houston, Texas area came together to support and care for orphans. Many of the families got involved because of their desire to become foster or adoptive parents. If you or anyone you know might be interested in joining this growing community and their cause direct them to their website for information.

Addi’s Faith Foundation is a nonprofit organization on a mission to end childhood cancer. Named after Addi Faith Bender, who lost her life to cancer at only 1 year old. Go to the website to donate or see how else you can help.

We are grateful for the Burnleys and their interest in making the world a better place for kids. Thank you for sharing your family with us and for showing us a few ways we can help families in need. In their family photos below you’ll see the kids are two peas in a pod. Photo after photo they let us in look in on their  bond and love for one another. We’re so happy to have you as one of our #Pure7Familes.

Rosemary Beach Photos | The Abernathy Family

In the Rosemary Beach Photos we’re sharing with you today, we had the privilege of working with two of our favorite things. The Abernathy family and the absence of color. Despite regularly photographing beach weddings, we don’t really talk about white or how commanding it can be if worn in photos. (Perhaps it’s why brides wear white.) But when the below family beach photos of the Abernathys came out looking so chic, I knew we had to give credit to their white on white looks.

In case you don’t know, white is is an achromatic color which literally means  “color without color.” According to wikipedia white is one of the most common “colors” in nature. We didn’t doubt that for a second here in Florida. Just take a stroll along the Emerald Coast and you won’t either. The beaches really are made up of sugar-white sand. (But that’s a whole different story.)

As you scroll through the family photos below, we hope you notice how the bright white of their clothing really compliments and sets the tone of the photos allowing contrast with the more colorful back drops. We won’t say white is the only way to go but it sure did work for the Abernathys.

What do you think? Would you wear white on white?

Sloan + David | Rosemary Beach Weddings

We couldn’t think of a better time to feature Sloan and David’s Rosemary Beach wedding.  With the promise of spring just around the corner, this full-of-life, colorful beach wedding gets us pretty darn excited for warmer temps and our upcoming spring wedding season.

Sloan and David were SUCH a fun, hip couple — totally our style!  😉  Not only was Sloan a super-cool and laid back bride, but their ridiculously adorable little girl, Georgie, completely stole our hearts the entire day.  She was full of energy and totally stole the show!  Pair all of that with gorgeous decor, amazing food, cakes that were completely fun and reflective of their personalities, and a night full of non-stop boogying on the dance floor — and you have yourself one heck of a party.

We loved being a part of Sloan and David’s day and are so blessed to photograph so many Rosemary Beach weddings- especially this one!  A huge thanks to our incredible team of wedding professionals who made it all happen!

Bailey + Zack Wedding Video | Rosemary Beach Wedding Videographer

Bailey & Zack’s gorgeous Rosemary Beach wedding took place this past June, and our very own Pure7 Films was there to capture  it all on video.  Coordination by It’s a Shore Thing, florals and catering from Celestine’s Weddings, ceremony music from the ever-so-talented Kyle LaMonica, and a non-stop dance floor courtesy of DJ Brent made for one amazing wedding.  From the beautiful bride and her bridesmaids popping the top on some bubbly to kick off the day’s events, to the trio of phenomenal wedding cakes from Confections on the Coast, to the ultra laid-back, super-in-love bride and groom . . . this day was a wedding videographer’s dream. Also a great experience was shooting along with the talented and super fun Wesleyann of Dear Wesleyann.

Creating this Rosemary Beach wedding video for Bailey & Zack was such an honor!  Once you’ve watched this highlights reel, be sure to head on over to our Pure7 Films Vimeo page for their full-length cinematic wedding film.  We’re so thrilled to continue to see Alan’s talent make so many brides & grooms over-the-moon happy to have captured their wedding day on film!

Rosemary Beach Commercial Video | Pure 7 Films

Alan was recently asked  to film a commercial video for Patchouli’s, which is a great little spot to pick up bath and body/spa-type gifts in Rosemary Beach.  The goals of this promotional video were to capture activity within the store, highlight the retail space itself, and feature the popular Bumble & Bumble product line carried by Patchouli’s.

Alan spent about a half a day filming women having their hair styled by the young men brought in representing Bumble & Bumble.  He highlighted their interactions and product questions, as well as sales after the appointments.  Alan even learned a few things about hair, and is now privy to terms like “blow-out” and “beach-y waves” . . . but we’re pretty sure he’ll stick to filming wedding and commercial video.

The retail space and customer activity throughout the store were captured beautifully!  This video truly highlights the layout and feel of the space, as well as the types of products carried by Patchouli’s.  Alan’s commercial video production abilities are glaringly evident, and we’re excited to share his talent in upcoming Pure 7 Films videos!

Senior Session in Rosemary Beach | Joanna Pratt

At first glance, the gorgeous photos you’re about to feast your little eyeballs on may look to be that of a stunningly beautiful bride.  Well, although “stunning” and “beautiful” certainly fit the bill for Joanna, a bride she is not (not yet anyway; sorry for the slight heart attack, Joanna’s dad).  Joanna hails all the way from the Big ‘D’ (and we do mean Dallas), and this gorgeous girl, while not quite yet ready for bridal-dom, is showing off the amazing dress she’ll be donning for a National Charity League event she’ll be attending.  Her mom, Cindy, contacted us recently to schedule Joanna’s Rosemary Beach senior portraits session, and explained that this insanely beautiful dress arrived the day before they were scheduled to hop on a plane to sunny Florida.  And lucky for them, Ryan & Lindsey had their camera knobs adjusted to the setting that says “really amazing” (because, duh, it’s all about the camera, right?  HA.  No.).
It’s no big secret that we’re mega-ultra-uber fans of Rosemary Beach.  Whether we’re photographing weddings, families frolicking on the beach, or a drop-dead gorgeous senior, we basically kick up our Toms in excitement every time we’re fortunate enough to click our camera buttons all over this amazing little beach community.  (Also, you should see Ryan try to “kick up his Toms”.  Not quite as dainty – or coordinated – as a leprechaun, but mildly hilarious nonetheless.  It’s even funnier when he has a camera slung over his shoulder.  We’ve encourage Lindsey to up her catastrophic insurance in the event she gets impaled by a camera lens.  Or a shoe.)
All antics aside, we thoroughly enjoyed taking Joanna’s senior photos.  She’s a gorgeous girl inside and out, and we were thrilled that she was able to wear this amazing dress for her photo session.

GEEK ALERT: We get really stoked about perfect lighting.  Also, non-rainy days are a pretty huge bonus.
Ok, seriously?  How cute is she??  PS – Chuck Taylors will crush our Toms any day of the week.

family faves 2011….

better late than never i say. i know the whole “best of 2011/year in review” stuff is usually around the first of the year. well, in case you have not figured it out we like to do things a little different around here. these pictures are some of my favorite from the past year. Some are Destin Wedding Photography sessions others are miscellaneous.  we are now gearing up for a crazy busy spring/summer. we look forward to all our new families and excited to see the families come back from years past.

devon’s end-of-her-first-year-at-college session…….

this beauty of a young lady came to us through her (now) sister-in-law, danna proffitt, whose wedding we were a part of last october.  devon is one who seems like a very quiet girl but when she is in front of the camera she absolutely rocks it!  she never had the typical senior portrait session done while she was in high school because she wanted to do something unique and different instead of wearing a feather boa across her shoulders or a tuxedo while standing next to a life size 2010 (hey, no hatin’ here i did it for my senior portraits, tuxedo and all!).  i am certain that she is glad she waited until the end of her first year in college to have some glamorous pictures taken, marking the start of her adult life!  devon is gorgeous and we can’t wait to shoot her wedding (not anytime soon, of course, we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves)!

dave, denae, chase & carter – the holifields

last week i was lucky enough to photograph a family that is close to me. dave & denae have the coolest twins! if you can believe it, denae’s tiny frame had two babies in it! i photographed her maternity session 5 years ago; it seems like it was just yesterday. i was also fortunate enough to be a part of their wedding at monet gardens in grayton beach. it was an honor to capture the sweet moments of them together. i can honestly say i was anticipating this session with them. . .it’s not everyday that you get to shoot with good friends. thanks to dave & denae for letting me photograph your family!
