Nothing more romantic than a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple!
Though they are from Indiana, JD and Ashley chose to seal their love with the perfect destination wedding on the Emerald Coast. It was a blast getting photograph this amazing couple and see the love between them shine.
JD and Ashley have been together for years. They had a couple of mutual friends that thought the two would be a great match, and one friend introduced them at a Pacer game nearly 10 years ago. It was a brief “Hi, nice to meet you” moment, as neither was really looking to meet someone. Six years after that, the same friends set up a group date, insisting they meet up again. We are glad their friends were so insistent because they have been together ever since! Together, these lovebirds enjoy card games, puzzles, the Pacers, family golf, and their dogs Tuck and Roxy.
To completely throw Ashley off, JD proposed on a weekend family getaway to Ohio at Great Wolf Lodge. Ashley was preparing to head to the water park for the day when her son Jett came in with a special “gift” from him and JD. JD then proceeded to get down on one knee, and the rest is history. Ashley was shocked, and it was perfect!
JD and Ashley were married at Rosemary Beach Town Hall on June 27, 2018 at 3:33 p.m., and the time is very significant.
When Ashley was standing on the side of the chapel waiting to enter, it started to rain. Her wedding planner asked if she would be okay with starting the ceremony three minutes early because the bridesmaids were getting wet. Holding back tears, Ashley requested that they wait. When the clock turned 3:33, it stopped raining. To Ashley, this was a sign that her dad in heaven was there with her and sending his love. You see, 3:33 was the exact time that Ashley’s father passed away. At her father’s funeral, the song “Holes in the Floor of Heaven” by Steve Wariner was played, which illustrates a wedding and rain. For Ashley, this moment was a complete God thing that she will cherish forever.
The wedding itself was perfect, with amazing weather and the sun shining. The couple’s favorite part was when they met to pray (without seeing each other) prior to the wedding. It was an intimate and surreal moment for these soon-to-be newlyweds. With Jett as the best man, it was also very special to hear the words and public commitment that JD shared with him.
You could not ask for a more beautiful wedding, and it was amazing to witness such a special day. Cannot wait to see what the future holds for these sweet family!
So gorgeous!
Thank you, Natalie!
