Alys Beach Wedding | Heather & Jason

A few weeks ago we shared Heather and Jason’s Alys Beach Wedding Video and today we’ve decided to reveal their wedding photos.  Normally we would show you everything all at once but decided this time we would let their wedding video and wedding photos stand alone. This way you’ll see our two different creative perspectives separately. One from our videographer, Alan, and the other from our photographers Ryan and Lindsey. They each have their own way of working through a wedding to capture the love and celebration of the day.

In their collection of wedding photos we love the subtle emphasis on Heather in her wedding dress. She is truly stunning both inside and out and every shot we took of her just showcases her effortless beauty. With photos in both color and black and white throughout there’s a perfect mix of timeless and trending.

While we could go on and on about Heather, it’s only fair to Jason and their beautiful ceremony and reception that we include them in all this. We still can’t get over how they had their very own white wall to get married! In our opinion it really made the ceremony pop and just suited them and Alys Beach perfectly. The photos of the happy couple on the beach speak for themselves. No matter how many weddings or family beach photos we shoot we never tire of seeing how striking and unique our beaches really are.

If you’ve never been to Alys Beach on 30A then you’re seriously missing out. There’s a reason so many brides pick here to be the place to say their I Dos and we’d like to think wedding photos like these are one of them.

Contrast and Color in Alys Beach Wedding Photos| Caroline & Matt

Sometimes you see things and they just speak to you. For some unexplainable reason this experience is a game changer. Well, Caroline and Matt’s wedding – and now wedding photos –  were a game changer for us.  Alys Beach is known for its impeccably white walls and Caroline’s vision incorporated contrast and color everywhere, which was probably a first for the beach town.

These two aren’t like other couples so it only makes sense their photos didn’t turn out like other wedding photos. Ryan and Lindsey were able to frame photos so the colors convey a sense of movement and playfulness matching the newlyweds personalities spot on. Truth be told, Caroline and Matt just being “Caroline and Matt” really make the wedding photos.  Their ability to be playful and loud in some moments while others are timeless black and whites also contributed to Ryan and Lindsey delivering a stunning photo collection.

Seeing the contrasting mixture inspires and reminds us there is always room to play and push the edge of what seems right or comfortable. It’s truly magical how well it all came together. Look at the ceremony with the guests. Could they have “dressed the part” any better? And the blue of the sea and sky. Even as locals it’s hard to believe its real. The day couldn’t have been any better and Caroline and Matt cherished every moment with their family and friends.

We are so thankful for them and all little wedding “wins” that aligned so we could create this special collection of wedding photos so Caroline and Matt can look back on their big day.

Truth be told we are loving all the buzz from this year’s Digital Graffiti. It’s been around for almost a decade and is starting to catch on for both locals and visitors lucky enough to be in Alys Beach when it takes place. Per usual Ryan shot a bunch of the event photos and just last week we blogged the commercial videos Alan shot at DG for Facetime Photobooth. Today we’re sharing the pages of Pure7 photos featured in EC Magazine where Digital Graffiti lives on for just a little longer in the latest issue.

If you’re not familiar with the event or EC Magazine, check them out! Both are worth your time (and money). Especially since the latest issue includes our latest feature! While you’re at it, Alys Beach is also a great place to visit even if you can’t make it when DG is happening. Its beautiful beaches are often the backdrop for our wedding photography and family beach photos.

All You Need is Love | Lindsie + Shane on Alys Beach

Exactly one week ago we were in the thick of fulfilling our sponsorship duties at Digital Graffiti. Alan and Ryan kicked butt shooting the event non-stop for three days. If you missed it, there are a few sneak peaks of this year’s event on our Instagram. Despite all the long hours and hard work, we love Digital Graffiti and all you need is love… right?

Today, in honor of Alys Beach and love, we’re sharing Lindsie and Shane’s one of a kind Alys Beach wedding. You won’t have to scroll through too many photos to figure out  how different their pictures are from other wedding pictures. Lindsie has a spark unlike any other, and the camera couldn’t help but capture it shot after shot. She looks as grounded and easygoing as she is, making both the wedding day shooting and post wedding work that much better.

Another thing making their collection unique is the lack of stiff posed photos. Lindsie and Shane were so free and really allowed us to be creative and try new things. We love building that relationship and trust with our clients. It helps everybody win!

Cheers to Lindsie and Shane. May their life be as one of a kind as they are.

Digital Graffiti 2014 | Pure7 Studios Proud Sponsor

There is an entire culture of people who consider graffiti an art. After seeing some of the pieces by Banksy or Shepard Fairey and the messages they spread, we can’t disagree. Their pieces require artistic talent and much like musicians, painters, photographers and all artists; graffiti artists are inspired by the world around them.

We only bring this up because in just three weeks, the white walls of Alys Beach will become a gallery of graffiti art. The only catch? It’s all digital graffiti.  The city hosts a digital graffiti festival in conjunction with Visit South Walton, celebrating the talents of digital artists everywhere. Around this time each year artists come from all over the world to showcase their ability to design using the newest technology. Of course like all great festivals, Digital Graffiti attracts musicians, filmmakers, photographers, digital artists, and even celebrities.

If you’re not familiar with digital graffiti as an art form or event, you soon will be. Scroll through our photos and watch the Pure7  highlight video of Digital Graffiti 2014. Our work will show you everything you need to know. Plus, as digital artists in our own right, Pure7 Studios remains a proud sponsor of Digital Graffiti for the third year in a row.

Consider this your personal invitation to come join us at the festivities and see the latest digital graffiti up close and personal. The entire #Pure7Fam will be there doing what we do best – documenting all the happenings of the festival and celebrate the talented artists working outside our medium.

Buy your tickets for the Digital Graffiti festival (June 4-6th) on digitalgraffiti.com

Keep up with Digital Graffiti 2015 on Facebook, Twitter (@DGAlysBeach), and Instagram (@DJAlysBeach).

Can’t wait to see you there!

Alys Beach Family Portraits | Fay Family

Can we just talk for a minute about how much we love taking photos of pretty people?  Make that doing pretty family portraits on a really pretty beach and, well, you basically render us speechless.  ‘Tis the season for all this prettiness to come to life in the form of awesome photos – so what better way to show off the fruits of our efforts with one of our latest beach portrait sessions!

The Fay family are no strangers to Alys Beach – since they own a little slice of what is just like heaven on earth here on the Emerald Coast, we figured it’d make the perfect spot for their family photos.  The best part of an Alys Beach family photo session?  It’s quuuuuiiiiiet.   Like, peaceful and private and non-crazy.  We’re fans of all of the above.  We’re also big fans of these guys.  So go ahead: take a peek at these and just try not to grin ear-t0-ear whilst admiring the happiness radiating from these happy souls.  We dare you.

Ok yeah, come on.  I mean, if you’re not smiling BIG here, then we should have a chat.  Just look at this!  Perfection.

Can you say UH-dorable??  Sigh.  So sweet.

And that, my friends, is how it’s done.  We’re actually planning on obsessing over these photos for at least another 1.7 hours, so you should too. And tell your friends to do the same.

Digital Graffiti | Alys Beach Photography

If you haven’t experienced the awesomeness of Digital Graffiti, well, then, I’m afraid you just haven’t lived.  I mean, not to be all condescending or anything, but who on earth wouldn’t want to experience two nights of wicked-cool artwork projected digitally onto the pretty white backdrop of Alys Beach and a big ol’ party with fancy refreshments and block-rockin’ beats?  Color me crazy (see what I did there?), but this is only like THE party of the year.  And, as an official Digital Graffiti sponsor, we got to photograph it!  We’re even on the t-shirt and everything.  How cool is that?

Wanna know what else is cool?  These pictures!  That artwork!  The lady in the acrobat-contraption-thing hanging from the pretty tent (ok yeah, that was pretty much mind-blowing)!  The knock-your-socks-off Saturday night party where everyone danced and sang and sipped and laughed!  Oh, also – Alys Beach photography opportunities – that’s like the coolest thing, ever.

Life-sized Lite Bright!  Told you this event was super-awesome and cool!

If you haven’t experienced the out-of-this world amazingness that is the Caliza Pool, then you really need to meander on over there.  Soon.  Like, yesterday.  Ridiculous, I tell you.

What an amazing event!  We’re pretty darn honored to have been one of the Digital Graffiti event photographers and can’t wait to see what next year has in store!  (Erica’s looking forward to upping the ante and trying out for the acrobatic-swinging-lady gig.  We’ll be sure to dedicate an entire blog post to something that amazing…)
