As a husband and father of three, I understand how even something as simple as a family photo shoot can become a huge ordeal, especially if there are expectations to get the “perfect shot” with the entire family posed just right. That’s why when I’m photographing families I like to keep things unrehearsed and unconventional. The best results usually come from a shoot where everyone feels relaxed and comfortable, so I prefer to spend more time letting families interact with each other uniquely and naturally and less time forcing everyone into unnatural and “stiff” poses. It tends to be that the candid and unrehearsed moments of the session produce the most beautiful results. Nothing brings me greater joy than capturing just the right moments where the love and happiness in a family shines through and lives forever in a meaningful portrait.
