Along the Emerald Coast, you’re sure to find plenty of kid-friendly things to do (you can find a few of our favorites here!).  But what about when you want time for just the two of you? Other than the obvious moonlit walks along the beach, check out a few other “adult” things to do in Destin and 30A.  Whether you’re a local looking for date night options or you’re visiting and found a sitter for the kids, it’s time to find something just for you to enjoy!  

Sunset Cruises – Take a cruise during one of the most beautiful times of the day and enjoy some relaxing, quality time.  Whether you choose a short cruise just to see the sites or a longer dinner cruise to make an evening out of it, there are dozens of cruise options available daily.  Some even feature the fireworks shows (Tuesdays and Thursdays) during the summer!

Norriego Point – Speaking of sunsets, a great place to watch them is at Norriego Point.  The soft white sand peninsula at the edge of Holiday Isle is perfect for a nice evening walk.  You can even grab the water taxi and head over to the other side of Destin Harbor for dinner and drinks.

Boat or Jet Ski Rentals – With options for guided tours, you can experience the best of Destin beyond the beach!  Choose a captain or be your own – there are options either way. See the dolphins and other marine life at your speed.  Or just cruise the coast as slow or fast as your heart’s desire!

Flyboard Excursion – Have you always wanted your own jetpack/hoverboard?  For the more adventurous amongst us, a Flyboard excursion could be just what you’re looking for.  Strap into your very own water jetpack and learn how to soar above the water.  

Crab Island– While there may be some families adventuring to Crab Island, a large portion of the experience is tailored to adult fun.  From floating restaurants and other vendors to occasional live music or DJs, Crab Island can be a fun date option if you don’t mind the crowds.

Bric a Brac – After adventuring during the day, grab a bite to eat and enjoy live bands nightly at Bric a Brac. Voted Best Crab Cakes in Destin for the past four years in a row, they have several tasty menu options.  While it’s family-friendly during the day, the crowd shifts in the later evening hours as the nightclub opens upstairs.  

Local Craft Breweries – Craft breweries have been popping up all over the country, and 30A is no exception.  Many local breweries have tastings and other events year-round! Grayton Beer Company and Idyll Hounds are not far from each other in 30A, and Destin Brewery is right in the heart of Destin.

Eden State Park – With tables located throughout the gardens, Eden State Park is the ideal location for your next romantic picnic.  It’s gorgeous in the cooler months and a popular Destin area outdoor wedding venue.  It also makes for great engagement sessions!

Golf – There’s no shortage of beautiful golf courses from 30A to Destin. Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club, Seascape Golf, Beach, and Tennis Resort, and Emerald Bay Golf Club are just a few courses that have public tee times available.  Golf Gardens is also a local driving range option to get some quick swings in.

Helicopter Tours – See the Emerald Coast from a completely different viewpoint.  Some tours leave right from Highway 98 and others leave from Destin’s general aviation airport (DTS).  Their routes have even changed lately so even if you’ve gone before, there may be some new sites to see from the sky!  

Horseback Riding – Explore some beautiful trails along the coastline atop your very own horse.  Western Pleasure Riding Stable offers several types of trail rides in Santa Rosa Beach.  A guided tour will give you the full outdoor experience – along with some history of the local area.

Henderson Park Inn – Destin’s adults-only resort, Henderson Park Inn is well known for being amongst the most romantic resorts in the country.  Enjoy dinner at Beach Walk Cafe (where no one under 13 can dine), followed by a beach fire pit experience, or even a romantic stay in one of their incredible suites! Nice hotel stays shouldn’t be reserved for just the honeymoon, after all!
