WaterColor is a private residential community. Photography sessions for registered guests and property owners are generally permitted, but commercial photography requires prior approval. We have an established working relationship with the WaterColor community and handle all permissions and logistics on your behalf before your session date.

Our three go-to locations are Western Lake Bridge for its iconic reflection shots at golden hour, Cerulean Park for a soft garden-style feel, and the Beach Club boardwalk area for classic 30A coastal portraits. Depending on your group and the look you want, we'll build the session route around the best combination of these spots.

The hour before sunset is ideal — Western Lake and the dune walkovers light up beautifully. Early morning also works well, especially in summer when sunset sessions can be hot and busy. We'll advise on the best start time based on your session date.

Yes — it's one of our favorite locations for both. The WaterColor Inn grounds, Western Lake Bridge, and the beach access paths all offer a refined, natural backdrop that's very different from a typical open beach wedding. If you're planning a ceremony or portrait session at WaterColor Inn specifically, we know the property well and can advise on timing and logistics.

Summer dates (June through August) book 4 to 6 weeks out on average. If you're planning a vacation to WaterColor, reach out as soon as your travel dates are confirmed sunset slots especially go quickly in peak season. Fall and spring dates are more flexible.
