Emily first called and spoke to Lindsey in early June, while planning her upcoming Alys Beach wedding to her (amazing) fiance, Russ. I distinctly remember returning to the studio that day, and Lindsey telling me all about Emily and how much she enjoyed talking to her. They had yoga in common, as Russ and Emily went to yoga class on their first date (Lindsey went to India last January to obtain her Teacher Training Certification in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga), and Lindsey was also excited to share the story of Russ’s surprise proposal to Emily in Atlanta. If my memory serves me correctly, they were at a restaurant surrounded by the closest of family & friends in celebration of his baptism and he secretly hired a film-maker to capture him giving Emily a gift to unwrap, which contained the ring. He got down on one knee and proposed, to the shock (and delight!) of Emily and their families. Many tears were shed by all, with a resounding “Yes!” by Emily. The film was so heart-warming, and Lindsey and I both cried when we watched it – and it made us even that more excited to meet this lovely couple. The love between them is palpable. Lindsey had the opportunity to photograph their engagement portraits in Rosemary Beach this past August. As destination wedding photographers, meeting our couples in person before the big day (while not a necessity) is always a bonus. After much anticipation, their October wedding date finally arrived and Ryan & Lindsey were onsite to photograph it, with Alan also in tow, filming it for their awesome wedding videos. This couple chose the every so lovely (and talented!) Heather Archdeacon-Williams of Defining Moments Weddings & Events as their wedding planner, and it was great to work with her again.
