Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. Walton County requires a vendor permit for all commercial photography on public beaches along 30A, including Seagrove. We hold this permit annually you don't need to arrange anything. If your session involves props, picnic setups, or beach décor, those require separate Walton County permits handled by approved vendors. We'll advise on this during your planning call.
-
Seagrove is quieter and less restricted than most 30A locations. The beach access points are open and uncrowded, the dune line is low enough for clean Gulf views, and the after-dinner crowd thins out faster than Seaside or Rosemary Beach. It's one of the most relaxed family session locations on the entire corridor great for young kids, large groups, and anyone who doesn't want to feel rushed.
-
Scenic 395 Beach Access for wide open Gulf views and clean dune backdrops, Deer Lake State Park for boardwalks through untouched dunes and rare coastal lake scenery, and Eastern Lake Outfall where freshwater meets the Gulf for unique textures and colors. Most family sessions use 395 as the primary spot with the state park as an optional add-on for variety.
-
The hour before sunset is ideal soft golden light, less crowded beach, and the Gulf at its most photogenic. Early morning works well too, especially in summer for families with young kids who do better before the heat of the day. We recommend against midday sessions — harsh overhead light and higher crowds.
-
Summer sessions (June through August) book 4 to 6 weeks out. If you're planning a 30A vacation, reach out as soon as your travel dates are confirmed — sunset slots especially go quickly from May through September. Fall and winter dates are more flexible, and Seagrove in the off-season is genuinely beautiful with empty beaches and soft light.
