Sunset sessions are most popular and usually run between 5:30 and 7:30 PM, depending on the season. Sunrise sessions, typically 6:00 to 7:00 AM, are great for early-rising children or families wanting a quieter beach.
Seasonal light shifts matter. Summer sunsets are later, while fall and winter sessions begin earlier. We help guide timing based on both the light and your family’s energy.

We begin by meeting at a pre-selected beach access point where everyone can arrive comfortably and settle in without feeling rushed. With the exception of State Parks, Walton County requires a ‘vendor permit’ be obtained by any company doing business on their beaches, including both public and private beaches. Every photographer shooting on Walton County beaches should carry this annual permit. We do so each year (by way of proof of adequate insurance, paying fees, and signing legal agreements), so that we can offer our services to the beaches most convenient to our clients. If a specific location does require one, we handle that on behalf of our clients during location planning.

Cloudy skies often create soft, even light that photographs beautifully. If weather conditions are unsafe or clearly unsuitable, we reschedule at no additional cost based on availability.

We’ve photographed families of two up to families of forty or more. Our session fees aren’t based on number of people. Rather, we have several session types and lengths available to suit small families, multi-generational groups, or family reunion gatherings. After our complimentary Discovery Call, we’ll gather the information we need to provide you a customized session recommendation based on the perfect experience for your group’s desired wants and needs.

Please do! Grandparents and family members are welcome as long as the session type selected allows enough time for groupings without rushing. Multi-generational families are one of our favorite things to photograph.

Rather than mini sessions, we design each session around your family so the experience feels relaxed and enjoyable. In our experience, sessions that are too short often create more stress for both parents and children, so we’ve found that about 45 minutes allows everyone time to settle in and capture beautiful, natural images.

Proofs are available as soon as 1-3 days after the shoot (7 days at most) and your selected, purchased images are professionally retouched and received by email to download digitally 7-10 days from date of purchase. Heirloom prints & products (wall portraits and albums) are custom-designed, handmade, and shipped directly to your homes, so can take 6-8 weeks to receive. You’ll have the digital version of each purchased heirloom to enjoy in the meantime!

The best lighting is the 45 minutes before sunset or after sunrise. Therefore, session time cannot be extended due to late arrival, as timing is based on light and beach conditions. We encourage all clients to arrive to their designated meeting location 15 minutes before their scheduled shoot time, and be sure to allow plenty of time if traveling to a location via Highway 30A (which may not be a long distance, but traffic is slow during peak season on this two-lane highway).
